Virgin or green cork from the first yield

The cork layer obtained in the first harvest. It will usually have a semi circular shape (‘half tube’). After more or less 20 years the cork oak is harvested for the first time. The main indicator however is not the age, but the diameter.

We carry out the harvest according to FSC – norms, which only allow the harvest of oaks with a diameter (dbh) > 23 cm.

Cork tubes

Entire tubes can only be collected in the forest. They are what is left of a dead tree, when the wood inside is already decomposed. They are a highly requested product, for zoos and terrariums. We also offer to prepare the tubes e.g. cut them to a certain length or fumigate them before the transport. A phytosanitary passport can also be prepared.

Cork branches

The branches are gained in the regular pruning of the trees. We can provide them in different sizes. The branches are fumigated to eliminate wood parasites.

Cork granulate

Cork granulate is one of the best natural isolation materials. Due to its natural characteristics it is water repellent and not liable to mould and other fungi.

Roots

We also offer root bulbs of characteristic Mediterranean plants as the strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo) or the tree heather (Erica arborea) that are very decorative and also contain a highly valuable wood.
